Allan Yorke Park is a popular city park with currently the only free public access located on the shores of Lake Tapps. To ensure a positive experience for park visitors, operational changes are in effect at Allan Yorke Park.

Operational changes include:

Enforcement and Security:

  • Increased visibility of law enforcement and security throughout Allan Yorke Park.
  • Officers will be on-site to engage with park users and enforce state and city codes.
  • Security will return to the beach area access gate and boat trailer parking entrances.

Beach Area:

  • Beach access will be limited to 250 guests at any given time for safety.

Boat Launch and Trailer Parking:

  • As with previous years, boat launch access will be limited to City residents with an annual launch pass. Boat launch passes can be purchased through the Bonney Lake Police Department.
  • Boat trailer parking will be located at ballfield 4 and a valid annual launch pass must be displayed.
  • A reminder that the boat launch is closed on the days of major events, including Tunes at Tapps, National Night Out, Bonney Lake Days, and the Labor of Love Triathlon.

Restricted Parking Zones:

  • On-street parking in neighborhoods surrounding the park is limited to homeowners who live within the restricted parking zone and require a valid parking permit to be displayed.

Parks Maintenance:

  • The Bonney Lake parks crew have been busy preparing Allan Yorke Park for the upcoming peak season. Our patrol officers will have a better view of the various areas of the park, such as the beach, snack shack, and open space. Trees along the trail have also been limbed so officers can easily patrol the forested area.

Pay-to-Park:

  • Pay-to-Park is coming soon to the parking lots at Allan Yorke Park. Details will be available on this webpage and on social media.
  • When pay-to-park is fully implemented, parking will remain free for City events like Tunes at Tapps, National Night Out, Bonney Lake Days, and Labor of Love Triathlon.

Park Rules:

Any updates will be shared on this webpage and the city’s Facebook page.
