Civil Service Commission Vacancy

The City of Bonney Lake is seeking applications to serve on its Civil Service Commission in a volunteer capacity. There is currently one vacancy for a full term serving thru April 2024 that is appointed by the Mayor. Regular scheduled meetings are held the fourth (4th) Monday of each month; as needed, or occasionally a special meeting with notice is required.

City Buildings


In accordance with the Governor’s phased reopening plan and orders from the State Supreme Court, the Justice & Municipal Center, Police Department, and Public Works Center are currently closed to the public except for individuals with scheduled court hearings. The Municipal Court counter remains closed. The Recreation Office and Senior Center will be closed in conjunction with the School District closure.

In an effort to take proactive measures to protect the health and safety of the community and staff, all Commission meetings are cancelled until further notice.  This includes all the following Commissions:

Boards & Commissions

Arts Commission

The Arts Commission advises the Mayor and Council on matters of the arts in the Bonney Lake community.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission makes recommendations on land use issues such as Comprehensive Plan amendments, zoning, and planning policies, procedures and fees.

Design Commission

The Design Commission reviews and advises on issues and application of City design and development guidelines.

Park Commission

The Park Commission assists in the development of the Parks Element of the Comprehensive Plan and recommends park policies, rules, and more.

Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission regulates the testing, hiring, and other personnel matters of Police Department employees.

Salary Commission

The Salary Commission reviews the salaries of the city's elected officials and sets elected officials' salaries pursuant to RCW 35.21.015. For more information contact the Commission secretary.
