The Human Resources Office works strategically with City departments and employees to attract, hire, develop, and retain a qualified, diverse workforce dedicated to working together to deliver high quality services to the community.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Office is responsible for:

  • Recruitment and selection
  • Classification and compensation
  • Employee development/performance management
  • Employee and Labor Relations
  • Employee wellness and benefits program
  • Compliance with employment law, policy review and implementation
  • Administration of workplace safety and workers' compensation
  • Salary Commission and Civil Service.
