Currently, Pierce County and the cities within Pierce County are in Phase 2 of the Governor’s phased reopening plan entitled Safe Start Washington. Under Phase 2, governmental offices are closed and a significant portion of the City’s staff are working remotely to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. While Pierce County is in Phase 2, the City is not performing code enforcement field inspections except for complaints that are related to an immediate threat to life or public safety. The City will continue to accept complaints, but will not begin investigating these complaints until Pierce County moves to Phase 3 of the Governor’s reopening plan. Once Pierce County has entered Phase 3, the City will prioritize the response to all requests for action submitted based on the priorities established in BLMC 14.130.040.G. The City appreciates the public’s patience as the City works through these unprecedented times.

Code Enforcement

Code enforcement is a traditional function of local government. In the City of Bonney Lake, Code Enforcement is administered through the Public Services Department but may be routed to other departments throughout the City.

To begin any review of a potential code violation a Request For Action Form  must be submitted to the City. When submitting a Request for Action Form it is critical that you include the property address and a description of the potential infraction. The form also provides you with a location to upload supporting documents such as photos.  To finish your submittal simply press the submit button on the bottom right of the Request For Action screen.

Request for Action Forms may be submitted by through the website or or in person. Contact information is listed on the left side of this page.

In the case of a life or health safety emergency, please call 9-1-1. Code enforcement does not duplicate or replace the role of police.

To learn more about the Code Enforcement process please visit the City of Bonney Lake Municipal Code Chapter 14.130 and the Nuisance Code.
