The City of Bonney Lake and the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District have operated a joint Recreation Program since 1991. The City of Bonney Lake took the lead in administering this program in fall 2017. Activities are offered at various Sumner-Bonney Lake School District and City of Bonney Lake facilities.

Payment must be received along with registration form in order to be fully registered. Payment can be made over the phone with Visa/MC.

The Bonney Lake Recreation Department Before & After School Activity Club Site Directors are experienced with working with children and plan fun activities, crafts as well as some quiet time to read or complete school work. All staff are 1st Aid/CPR certified as well as have completed a background check.

Registration dates vary based on school child(ren) will be attending in the Fall, this information is in the Parent Manual.  
Registration forms are part of the Parent Manual packet. Please read the manual carefully as there are many changes from previous years. Registration forms are to be completed each school year.

The City of Bonney Lake, in partnership with the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, offers a variety of sports, classes and clinics for both children and adults. The Recreation Department also runs a Before & After School Activities Club at the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District elementary schools. It is the goal of the Recreation Department to serve the greater community to become lifelong participants and learners through a variety of activities.

How To Register For Activities

Activities open for registration may be done by mail or scan/email. You can also take a picture of the form and email it to the office.

For all programs you may utilize the generic registration form linked here.  Please note registration information and policies on the form. 

We do not take over the phone registration although we do take payment over the phone.  Your registration is not complete until both form AND payment has been received. You may call us and we can email you a form to print and then scan (or take a picture) and send back to us. Please include last name-program registering for in the subject line when emailing in a form.

*Must mail or call in payment after submitting*     Please save the registration form document on your desktop and send and attach from your email account. Please include participant's last name and program in the email subject line.  This will allow us to search for your form if needed.

*There is an additional $5 per child/per program if they reside outside either the City of Bonney Lake or the Sumner/Bonney Lake School District boundaries.

Before & After School Activities Club Registration 2022/23

General Info:
Please read through the parent information packet for your child's school registration day.  Registration dates for each school is on page 3 of the Parent Manual. 

Space will be limited but we are working to accommodate as many children per school as space allows.

Before and After School Activities Club in detail for all the changes and program outline. 
Hours of the program will be 6:30AM - 6:00PM.
Kids and staff will be encouraged to wear a mask as per guidelines set forth by the health department and Sumner-Bonney Lake School District. 

We will be supporting the learning model that the Sumner-Bonney Lake Schools is planning for the kids for the fall.  

ALL registrants new and returning will be expected to fill out new forms. All forms are due at the time of registration along with September payment and registration fee:

Specialized Recreation

The City of Bonney Lake does not currently offer any specialized recreation programs for individuals with special needs. Below is a list of nearby community resources where further information can be found regarding such programs:

Action Day Camp 2022 - Full

We are currently full. To be on a waitlist a complete packet must be submitted to our office.

In Summer 2021, we offered nine themed weeks of awesome summer camp fun and games; you could select any or all weeks.   

Registration opened on April 19th.

We must have all paperwork and fees (either deposits or full payment) at the time or registration. Please refer to the parent packet for detailed information.

Camp Location:
Robert Miller Gym, Sumner
Camp Hours:
8:00A - 5:30P with planned activities between 9:00A - 4:00P. See registration flyer for each week's specific theme. 
Grades(based on current school year): K - 5
Cost:
$75 registration fee per family PLUS deposit or full payment for each week of camp per camper. Camp t-shirt:  $12 per camper.

All five (5) documents must be completed and turned in with applicable fees and deposit to reserve Camper's spot in Action Day Camp. 

School Delays/Weather
When there is a school closure or delay due to weather conditions, the Recreation Department's Before and After School Activity Club will likewise be affected. For example, if school is two hours late, the Before and After School Program will not open until 8:30 AM (which is two hours later than usual). If schools are closed, our program will also be closed.

Call the Sumner-Bonney Lake District Emergency Hotline at 253-891-6001 for weather related school changes or monitor local radio and television stations.

Volunteer Coaches Needed!
All our youth sports programs cannot run without the support of parents and community members that give of their time to help coach the kids of our community! From PeeWees to middle schoolers, these kids count on the community to support them in healthy, team based activities!

All it takes is a willingness of heart, some time (although you may already be at practices/games with your child), background clearance and 1st Aid/CPR certified!  We do our best to work around your schedule and needs! Please just indicate an interest at the time of your child's registration or just reach out to our department.
