The City of Bonney Lake and the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District have operated a joint Recreation Program since 1991. The City of Bonney Lake took the lead in administering this program in fall 2017. Activities are offered at various Sumner-Bonney Lake School District and City of Bonney Lake facilities.

FULL at ALL sites! Before and After School Information 2021/22

Students that were enrolled in our LEAP program at the time of the opening of B&A registration had first opportunity for any program changes as well as our regular B&A program.

For 2021/22 school year - Currently we are full. If interested in joining the waitlist see below for updated information along with the Parent Manual and registration forms. Registration will be done electronically (forms to be emailed or faxed into the Rec office).

The City of Bonney Lake, in partnership with the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, offers a variety of sports, classes and clinics for both children and adults. The Recreation Department also runs a Before & After School Activities Club at the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District elementary schools. It is the goal of the Recreation Department to serve the greater community to become lifelong participants and learners through a variety of activities.

How To Register For Activities
We are working on a variety of classes/leagues and other activities to offer the community.  Currently our office is closed to the public and in person registration. 
Activities open for registration may be done by mail, fax, scan/email. For activities/classes, please utilize the generic registration form linked here.
We do not do over the phone registration although we do take payment over the phone.  Your registration is not complete until payment has been received. You may call us and we can email you a form to print and then scan (or take a picture) and send back to us. Please include last name-program registering for in the subject line when emailing in a form.

2021 Rec Registration form     *Must mail or call in payment after submitting*     Please save the document on your desktop and send and attach from your email account. Please include Participant's last name and program. This will allow us to search for your form if needed.

All sites are full at this time.  If wanted to be considered for the waitlist, please complete the parent packet information and submit to the Rec Office. 
General Info:
Before and After School Registration opened in June. Please read through the parent information packet for your child's school registration day.
This process will be done electronically as our office is still closed to the public.
We have retooled what we normally offer during the school year to help accommodate families in our community and comply with Department of Health guidelines.  Space will be limited but we are working to accommodate as many children per school as space allows and will be only accepting both AM & PM registrants at this time due to cohort recommendations.

Please read the Parent Manual & Registration forms for our
Before and After School Activities Club in detail for all the changes and program outline. 
Hours of the program will be 6:30AM - 6:00PM.
Kids and staff will be required to wear a mask as per guidelines.
We will be supporting the learning model that the Sumner-Bonney Lake Schools is planning for the kids for the fall. We will be evolving our program based on what learning model the district is using at that time. Families currently enrolled with us will have first opportunity to register for each of the "next steps" we will be offering in accordance to the school schedule. 

ALL registrants new and returning will be expected to fill out new forms. All are due at the time of registration along with payment:

     a) $75 registration fee ( per family)
     b) $395 - per month rate varies based on schedule

Specialized Recreation

The City of Bonney Lake does not currently offer any specialized recreation programs for individuals with special needs. Below is a list of nearby community resources where further information can be found regarding such programs:

FULL - Action Day Camp 2021 Info!!

In Summer 2021, we are offered nine themed weeks of awesome summer camp fun and games; you could select any or all weeks.   

We will accepted email registrations beginning in spring. We will release 2022 date for registration after January. Please email if you have any questions.

School Delays/Weather
When there is a school closure or delay due to weather conditions, the Recreation Department's Before and After School Activity Club will likewise be affected. For example, if school is two hours late, the Before and After School Program will not open until 8:30 AM (which is two hours later than usual). If schools are closed, our program will also be closed.

Call the Sumner-Bonney Lake District Emergency Hotline at 253-891-6001 for weather related school changes or monitor local radio and television stations.

Volunteer Coaches Needed!
All our youth sports programs cannot run without the support of parents and community members that give of their time to help coach the kids of our community! From PeeWees to middle schoolers, these kids count on the community to support them in healthy, team based activities!

All it takes is a willingness of heart, some time (although you may already be at practices/games with your child), background clearance and 1st Aid/CPR certified!  We do our best to work around your schedule and needs! Please just indicate an interest at the time of your child's registration or just reach out to our department.
