The Bonney Lake Arts Commission is seeking up to six artists to design original artwork for our utility boxes, adding visual interest and beauty to our shared streetscapes.
Local artists in Pierce County are invited to submit their artwork, if selected, their art will be transformed into vinyl wraps and placed on utility boxes throughout the city.
Submissions will be accepted on an ongoing basis with first review on January 20. The artists selected will be awarded $500 for their work.
Utility cabinet locations are located throughout the City of Bonney Lake on the corners of the following streets:
- Veterans Memorial and Main St
- Locust Ave and 18th Ave
- Sky Island Dr and 184th Ave
- 104th St and 199th Ave Ct
- South Prairie Dr and 200th Ave Ct
- Bonney Lake High School/Mountain View Middle School and 199th Ave Ct
Artists are encouraged to apply. First review is January 20, 2026.

Sponsors
Businesses and community supporters can get involved by becoming a project sponsor. Sponsors can choose from two types of sponsorship:
Artist Stipend $500:
Support local artists by funding the stipend for one utility box design. This sponsorship helps compensate the artist for their creativity and time, making public art possible. Artist Stipend sponsors earn recognition through social media, newsletter, website, and verbal acknowledgement during the grand reveal.
Full Utility Box $2,300:
Cover the full cost of transforming an entire utility box into a work of art, which includes the artist stipend, materials, and installation. Full sponsors help bring a complete public art project to life and make a lasting visual impact. Full sponsors earn recognition through social media, newsletter, website, verbal acknowledgement during the grand reveal, and have the option to add its business logo on the Utility Box.
