Implementation of 2018 International Building Code (IBC)

On February 1, 2021, the City of Bonney Lake will begin utilizing the 2018 International Building Code (IBC) Series with Washington State Amendments.  In order for a building permit to be reviewed under the 2015 IBC Series a complete application including all required submittal items identified on the submittal worksheet must be submitted to the City by January 31, 2021.  As the City will not be able to process applications over the weekend,  the required application fee must be paid no later than 5:00 PM on  February 1, 2021.  If a building permit application is submitted without all of the required submittal items, submitted after January 31, 2021, and/or the fees are not paid by February 1, 2021, the application will be deemed incomplete and subject to the 2018 IBC Series. Partial applications or submittals will not vested a building permit to the 2015 IBC Series.  Complete applications already submitted to the City and under review will continue to be reviewed under the 2015 IBC Series.  

The Justice & Municipal Center will be closed to public access until further notice to slow the spread of COVID-19.  Many of our services are available online and staff can be reached by email or phone.
