Crime Statistics by Neighborhood
www.piercecountycrimedata.org

Visit the Bonney Lake Neighborhood Crime page to search crime data by address or neighborhood. This page is brought to you through a partnership between the City of Bonney Lake and Pierce County.

"The goal of neighborhood crime mapping is to reduce crime, the fear of crime, and to improve livability in Bonney Lake neighborhoods. By providing tools that help identify and track neighborhood crime, the community and the police can work together to develop effective crime prevention and problem solving strategies. These strategies can be targeted on problems before they develop into more serious situations requiring additional police services or that negatively influence livability in our neighborhoods."

National Incident-Based Reporting System & Uniform Crime Report Statistics
"The National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) is an incident-based reporting system for crimes known to the police. For each crime incident coming to the attention of law enforcement, a variety of data are collected about the incident. These data include the nature and types of specific offenses in the incident, characteristics of the victim(s) and offender(s), types and value of property stolen and recovered, and characteristics of persons arrested in connection with a crime incident.

The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, of which NIBRS is a part, is a city, county, state, and Federal law enforcement program. This program provides a nationwide view of crime based on the submission of crime information by law enforcement agencies throughout the country. The crime data are submitted either through a state UCR Program or directly to the national UCR Program, which is administered by the FBI. Since the 1930s, the data have been used in law enforcement administration, operation, and management, as well as to indicate the levels and nature of crime in the United States (information courtesy of www.icpsr.umich.edu)."
