Nominees/organizations must reside in Bonney Lake or have a 98391 zip code. Nominees should educate, support, or make original art in our community.

The City of Bonney Lake community Easter Egg Hunt begins promptly at 11:00am at Allan Yorke Park, rain or shine. There is no charge for this event. Children ages 1-11 are welcome. Bring your baskets and your camera to take a free picture with the Easter Bunny!

Haulin' Eggs 5k Fun Run

The Haulin' Eggs 5k Fun Run is a hilly course where you literally haul eggs as you run!  During this unofficially timed 5k event, participants will collect one egg at each kilometer; each egg corresponds to a goodie at the end of the race. The 5th, and final egg will be an egg shaped finisher prize.

Awards will be given to the overall first place male and female finisher. After the race, join us for the family Easter Egg hunt through Allan Yorke Park!

The annual Adult Flashlight Egg Hunt event is sponsored by the Sumner-Bonney Lake Recreation Program. With over 2,000 eggs to find, you will have a chance to win prizes such as gift cards, spring gift items, soda, chips, candy and MORE! Event will take place rain or shine. Spring Clean Up Week - DM Disposal

Week of April 18-22, 2016

Cleanup iconDuring Spring Clean Up Week the City's solid waste company, DM Disposal, will pick up extra garbage, recycling and/or yard waste and one appliance at no additional charge for customers inside Bonney Lake city limits. For more information call DM Disposal directly at (253) 414-0347.

In addition, a FREE SHREDDING EVENT and FLUORESCENT BULB REYCLING will be available on Saturday, April 23rd as part of Spring Clean Up Week, in conjunction with Parks Appreciation Day events. See details below.

Spring Clean Up is available to customer accounts inside the city limits of Bonney Lake only. This offer does not apply to Murrey's Disposal customers with accounts in unincorporated Pierce County. Not sure if you live inside the City limits? Check our City Limits map or call the City receptionist at (253) 862-8602 for assistance.

Clean Up Week Details & Requirements

  • Extra Garbage/Yard Waste
    • Curbside pick-up only (no alley access).
    • Up to 3 extra cans/bags of garbage and/or yard waste.
    • Additional cans/bags must weigh no more than 45 lbs when full.
    • Extra cans or bags of garbage or yard waste should be placed for curb-side pick up by 7:00 am on your regular garbage pick up day.
  • Applicance Disposal
    • One (1) appliance per household.
    • Acceptable appliances include: Refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, freezers, hot water heaters, washers or dryers.
    • Appliances must be placed for pickup by MONDAY morning.
  • Free 'Shredathon' & Fluorescent Bulb Recycling Event - April 23, 2016
    • April 23, 2016 from 10am to Noon at Midtown Park (WSU Forest, behind Fred Meyer - 20901 SR 410) during Parks Appreciation Day
    • Shredding: Individuals are permitted to bring up to 1 file box or 2 grocery bags of documents. Do not bring stiff metal, plastic bags, DVDs or other items that will jam the shredder.

    • Fluorescent Bulbs: Limit of 10 bulbs per person. All mercury-containing lights are accepted, including fluorescent bulbs, compact fluorescents (CFLs) and high intensity discharge bulbs.

Bonney Lake volunteers will meet at the Midtown Park (WSU Forest) entrance behind Fred Meyer & Regal Cinemas (same location as past years), on the South side of SR 410 between South Prairie Rd and 214th Ave E. Calling All Scouts! Each year, East Pierce firefighters facilitate numerous public education requests from scout groups trying to achieve certain badge requirements. In response to the demand and to reach more scouts, we thought our scouts deserved an event of their very own … Scout Night.

East Pierce Fire invites all Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Campfire members to join us in our first annual Scout Night event at our Headquarters Station in Bonney Lake.

Chalk art spaces and supplies are limited, and are provided on a first come, first serve basis. Artists must check-in prior to beginning the competition, and may begin working in their designated chalk area any time after check-in.

Senior CenterThe Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club invites you to a Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Center, 19304 Bonney Lake Boulevard - just down the road from the park! The cost is just $5 for adults, $3 children under 12 years old for all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee!

ParadeThe annual parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on West Tapps Hwy, adjacent to Allan Yorke Park. The parade starts at Emerald Hills Elementary and finishes at Allan Yorke Park.

Food Drives, Giving Tree, & Shop With A Cop

Tis the season to give! Each year the City works with the School District, Food Bank, local businesses and others to organize a city-wide Food Drive and 'Giving Tree' Toy Drive, as well as the 'Shop with a Cop' program.

A food item drop-off bin is available in the Public Safety Building lobby during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

DM Disposal employees will stop by each home in Bonney Lake to pick up donations of non-perishable food items. View more information here, and keep an eye out for donation bags from DM Disposal.

All food items are given to the local Bonney Lake Food Bank and Senior Center. Visit the Bonney Lake Food Bank website for more information on other ways to donate, host a food drive, or volunteer.

Giving Tree QuiltGiving Tree Toy Drive

The Bonney Lake Police Department organizes the annual Giving Tree toy drive for area needy children each year.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Bonney Lake Public Safety Building. You can also pick a specific child's tag off our Giving Tree quilt in the lobby and purchase gifts from their wish list.

Please DO NOT wrap gifts. You may include wrapping paper in a bag along with gifts and the Giving Tree tag for gifts purchased for a specific child. Volunteers will wrap and distribute all gifts.

Please donate early to assist us in handling in time for delivery!

Thank you all for your continued support of the giving tree program, as this program depends on community support. Let’s again brighten a child’s Christmas and help families!


Shop with a Cop Program

Shop With A CopThe Bonney Lake Police Department “Shop with a Cop” program serves children in need and helps them purchase gifts for their families during the holidays.

Donations of money or Target Gift Cards are accepted at the Bonney Lake Police Department, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by mail to 18421 Veterans Memorial Dr E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391.

The City of Bonney Lake and the Kiwanis Club are again sponsoring annual holiday Tree Lighting and Food Drive activities! Come join the fun!

Activities and music, refreshments, candy, pictures with Santa, and the annual tree lighting ceremony. Drop food donations off at the Food Bank, which is adjacent to the Public Safety Building and the community Christmas Tree.

Gingerbread House Contest - 2016

The Bonney Lake Arts Commission and Kiwanis Club are proud to present the 3rd Annual Gingerbread House Contest!

Children, teens and adults can enter as individuals or in teams. It all culminates in an evening of holiday cheer at the Tree Lighting Event when entries will be judged for prizes!

What is Geocaching? 

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the item hidden at that location.

SwimSafe focuses on educating the public and promoting swim safety in Lake Tapps. The group was formed by Bonney Lake Mayor Neil Johnson and includes representatives from the City of Bonney Lake, Bonney Lake Police Department, East Pierce Fire & Rescue, Sumner School District, Dieringer School District, Pierce County Parks, and Cascade Water Alliance.

'Water Safety Days' at Area Schools
The Bonney Lake Police Department and East Pierce Fire & Rescue also sponsor 'Water Safety Day' events at area elementary schools during the spring months (April - May). These events are offered for the students attending these schools only. For more information contact the specific school or BLPD Sergeant Ryan Boyle.









Blood Drive

Cascade Regional Blood Services is a not-for-profit health care organization that has been supplying blood products and specialty therapeutic services to South King & Pierce Counties for over 60 years.

Donations are needed to maintain an adequate blood supply. Please encourage your friends and co-workers to donate blood. If you’re unable to donate, please consider finding someone to donate in your place.
