Arts Commission LogoThe Medal of Arts is an annual award honoring an individual of any age or organization who has made a significant contribution to and promoted one or more of the various arts in Bonney Lake – music, visual arts, performing arts, digital and literary, etc.

Nominees/organizations must reside in Bonney Lake or have a 98391 zip code. Nominees should educate, support, or make original art in our community.

The City of Bonney Lake community Easter Egg Hunt begins promptly at 11:00am at Allan Yorke Park, rain or shine. There is no charge for this event. Children ages 1-11 are welcome. Bring your baskets and your camera to take a free picture with the Easter Bunny!

Don't be late - once the gun goes off, it's over in a matter of minutes!


Haulin' Eggs 5k Fun Run

April 20, 2019 -

The Haulin' Eggs 5k Fun Run is a hilly course where you literally haul eggs as you run!  During this unofficially timed 5k event, participants will collect one egg at each kilometer; each egg corresponds to a goodie at the end of the race. The 5th, and final egg will be an egg shaped finisher prize.

Awards will be given to the overall first place male and female finisher. After the race, join us for the family Easter Egg hunt through Allan Yorke Park!

Spring Clean Up Week - DM Disposal

Cleanup iconDuring Spring Clean Up Week the City's solid waste company, DM Disposal, will pick up extra garbage, recycling and/or yard waste and one appliance at no additional charge for customers inside the Bonney Lake city limits. For more information call DM Disposal directly at (253) 414-0347.

In addition, a FREE SHREDDING and RECYCLING EVENT will be available on Saturday, April 21st as part of Spring Clean Up Week, in conjunction with Parks Appreciation Day events. See details below.


Clean Up Week Details & Requirements

  • Extra Garbage/Yard Waste
    • For DM customers inside the city limits of Bonney Lake only. Does not include Murrey's Disposal customers in unincorporated Pierce County.
    • Curbside pick-up only (no alley access).
    • Up to 3 extra cans/bags of garbage and/or yard waste.
    • Additional cans/bags must weigh no more than 45 lbs when full.
    • Extra cans or bags of garbage or yard waste should be placed for curb-side pick up by 7:00 am on your regular garbage pick up day. 
  • Applicance Disposal
    • For DM customers inside the city limits of Bonney Lake only. Does not include Murrey's Disposal customers in unincorporated Pierce County.
    • One (1) appliance per household.
    • Acceptable appliances include: Refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, freezers, hot water heaters, washers or dryers.
    • Appliances must be placed for pickup by MONDAY morning.
  • Free Shredding & Recycling Event - April 27, 2019
    10am to Noon at Midtown Park (WSU Forest, behind Fred Meyer - 20901 SR 410) during Parks Appreciation Day
    • Shredding: Individuals are permitted to bring up to 1 file box or 2 grocery bags of documents. Do not bring stiff metal, plastic bags, DVDs or other items that will jam the shredder. For more information and tips on what to shred, visit the WA Attorney General’s website
    • Fluorescent Bulbs: Limit of 10 bulbs per person. All mercury-containing lights are accepted, including fluorescent, compact fluorescents (CFLs) and high intensity discharge bulbs.
    • Other Recycling Services: UpTekk Recycling will accept recycling items free of charge during this event, including electronics, computers, monitors, printers, scrap metal, household goods, batteries, etc. For more info call 206-497-9979 or visit

Calling All Scouts! Each year, East Pierce firefighters facilitate numerous public education requests from scout groups trying to achieve certain badge requirements. In response to the demand and to reach more scouts, we thought our scouts deserved an event of their very own … Scout Night.

East Pierce Fire invites all Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Campfire members to join us in our first annual Scout Night event at our Headquarters Station in Bonney Lake.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue invites the public to join them for their annual Open House at the East Pierce headquarters station at 18421 Veterans Memorial Drive East, in Bonney Lake.

The free health and safety fair will include booths with public safety partners including the Bonney Lake Police, Sumner Police and Pierce County Sheriff’s Departments, plus many more.

Bonney Lake Giving Tree

Share the gift of cheer this holiday season. Donate new toys, clothing items, shoes, and books for our local children and teens up to age 18. A collection bin will be available starting the week of November 26 at the East Pierce Fire Headquarters, 18421 Veterans Memorial Drive East, Bonney Lake.

5th Annual Mayor’s Food Drive

In the spirit of the holidays, I would like to ask for your support in making someone else’s holidays a little brighter by donating nonperishable food during the 5th annual Mayor’s Food Drive presented by DM Disposal. All of the food donated will benefit the Bonney Lake Food Bank, which serves more than 3,000 people each month. Let’s come together and exceed our goal of 6,000 pounds of food.

Bonney Lake residents will receive a plastic bag in the mail to place your nonperishable food donations next to your garbage cart by 7:00 a.m. on November 15. If you would like to participate but are unable to have items curbside, please consider dropping off your donation at the Bonney Lake Food Bank located at 18409 Veterans Memorial Drive East. The most helpful foods are canned fruit and veggies; canned tuna; soups, stews and chili; peanut butter in plastic jars; canned meats; and pop-topped canned meals. Shop with a Cop Program

The Bonney Lake Police Department “Shop with a Cop” program serves children in need and helps them purchase gifts for their families during the holidays.

Donations of money or Target gift cards are accepted at the Bonney Lake Police Department, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by mail to 18421 Veterans Memorial Dr E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391.



Tree Lighting Festival & Gingerbread House Contest

Sleigh your way to the annual Tree Lighting Festival & Gingerbread House Contest. Activities and music, refreshments, pictures with Santa, and help countdown the lighting of the tree. Bring nonperishable food to support the Bonney Lake Food Bank.

The Bonney Lake Arts Commission and Kiwanis Club host the annual Gingerbread House Contest. Enter this fun and festive contest as a team, individual, or business. It all culminates in an evening of holiday cheer at the Tree Lighting Event when entries will be judged for prizes!

What is Geocaching? 

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the item hidden at that location.




Swimsafe Community Events

SwimSafe focuses on educating the public and promoting swim safety in Lake Tapps. The group was formed by Bonney Lake Mayor Neil Johnson and includes representatives from the City of Bonney Lake, Bonney Lake Police Department, East Pierce Fire & Rescue, Sumner School District, Dieringer School District, Pierce County Parks, and Cascade Water Alliance.

'Water Safety Days' at Area Schools
The Bonney Lake Police Department and East Pierce Fire & Rescue also sponsor 'Water Safety Day' events at area elementary schools during the spring months (April - May). These events are offered for the students attending these schools only. For more information contact the specific school or BLPD Sergeant Ryan Boyle.




Community Blood Drive

This is a non-City event.

Cascade Regional Blood Services is a not-for-profit health care organization that has been supplying blood products and specialty therapeutic services to South King & Pierce Counties for over 60 years.

Donations are needed to maintain an adequate blood supply. Please encourage your friends and co-workers to donate blood. If you’re unable to donate, please consider finding someone to donate in your place.

Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic

Low-cost and free pet spay and neuter services are provided by the Pasado's Safe Haven non-profit organization in various locations in Pierce County.
