General Information
The City of Bonney Lake’s Comprehensive Plan incorporates a Downtown Plan, which was adopted in 2004 and refined in 2007. See the Community Character Element of the Comprehensive Plan, which can be found on our Comprehensive Plans Page.
The refined Downtown Plan (available to download below) has better imagery, being based on a 3-D computer model, updated economic study and extensive stakeholder involvement from the Downtown Developers Group. Progress
Since 2004 the City has adopted and refined the Downtown Plan, adopted and refined the Downtown zoning to implement the Downtown Plan, and established a design review process in the Downtown Design Standards (7.6 MB). The Downtown Design Standards were adopted by the City Council on August 14, 2007 (Ordinance 1250). The Downtown Design Standards boundary map was revised by by Council on February 23, 2010 (Ordinance 1344).
The first major project towards redeveloping the Downtown is the extension of 184th Ave, which was renamed 'Main Street'. Main Street has been extended through the Greenwood Development at Veterans Memorial Drive E (formerly Sumner-Buckley Hwy).
